This Privacy Policy explains how the Spit Card Game iOS app ("Spit Card Game" or "the App") handles information. The App is published by Louie Gaiser (see Imprint for provider details). Questions: apps@louiegaiser.com.
1. Summary
Spit Card Game is a real-time card game for two players. The App has no own server, requires no account and uses no analytics or advertising. Online play runs through Apple's Game Center; the bot mode works fully offline.
2. Game Center (Online Play)
Online matches use Apple's Game Center, operated by Apple Distribution International Ltd., Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Hollyhill, Cork, Ireland, under Apple's Privacy Policy. When you play online, the App receives:
- Your Game Center player ID (pseudonymous, not anonymous)
- Your Game Center display name
- The Game Center friends you choose to invite
During a match, card moves and the game state are exchanged between the two devices. Apple handles matchmaking and may relay the connection through its servers. In a direct peer-to-peer connection, your device's IP address can be visible to your opponent's device.
The App keeps this data in memory only for the duration of a match and never sends it to us. The only exception is your opponent's display name, which is saved in your game history on your device (see section 4). Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (providing the online game you requested).
3. Analytics and Tracking
Spit Card Game does not use third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs. We do not track your activity across apps, websites or services.
4. Data Stored on Your Device
The App may store settings (for example sound or haptics preferences) locally on your device. This data never leaves your device and is removed when you delete the app.
The App also keeps a game history (opponent name, result and date). For online games, the opponent name is your opponent's Game Center display name. The game history is stored only locally on your device, is never sent to us or anyone else, and is deleted together with the app.
Deleting the app does not affect data held by Apple in Game Center (for example your Game Center profile, friends or achievements). That data remains with Game Center and is managed through your Apple Account or by contacting Apple (see section 2).
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
5. Crash Reports, Diagnostics and TestFlight
If you have enabled Apple's option to share analytics with app developers, Apple may provide us with crash and diagnostic reports through App Store Connect. These reports are governed by Apple's terms and contain no game data.
During the beta, the App is distributed through Apple's TestFlight. Apple then shares with us your name and email address (if you were invited by email), crash reports, device model, iOS version, and any feedback or screenshots you actively send.
We use this data only to fix bugs and delete it once it is no longer needed for the beta. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in a stable app). You can stop this at any time by leaving the beta in TestFlight.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share your personal information. Data leaves your device only as described in section 2 (to Apple and your opponent's device during online play).
7. Children
Spit Card Game is not directed to children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Your Rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). For Game Center data, contact Apple directly, as Apple controls that data. If you email us, we use your message only to reply and delete it once the matter is resolved (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state of your residence.
9. Changes to This Policy
We update this policy when the App changes how it handles data. The date at the top shows the current version.
